Welcome

Cubs abseiling

The 50th Cambridge Scout group is based in the village of Milton near Cambridge. We offer modern facilities with a dedicated team of leaders, who between them have a wealth of experience in the various aspects of today's modern Scouting.

Our group is a family comprising four sections (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers) for young people between the ages ages of 6 and 18.

If you are a parent with a child joining our group, you may like to read our Welcome Pack.

We have a marquee and other tents which are available  for hire for your event. We also have a modern 15-seater minibus for hire to non-profit making community and voluntary groups in Milton and the surrounding area.

What is Scouting?

Cubs running across a fieldScouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

As Scouts, we are guided by the values of integrity, respect, care, belief and co-operation.

Our programme of events is based on principles such as:

  • taking part in activities indoors and outdoors
  • learning by doing
  • taking responsibility and making choices
  • undertaking new and challenging activities

If you want to find out more about the Scouting movement, there are more details in the Fundamentals of Scouting or in the Parent's Guide to Scouting.

All our registered leaders are fully CRB checked.

Suspension of Scouting

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 16th March, The Scout Association has taken the decision to suspend all face-to-face Scout meetings, activities and events with immediate effect.

We will continue to monitor and re-evaluate the situation based on the Government and Scout Association guidance, and will keep you all updated about when Scouting can resume.

We hope that all of you, and your families, remain well and look forward to resuming Scouting later in the year.
